I know this topic may seem a popular one that has been exhausted in the past by different writers but I believe that this topic can never be exhausted because things happen to you on this onward journey called life where you continually interact with people of different sizes and stature as you make your journey.
Some events occur that might seem inexplicable and baffling and might make you ponder a litte or even question the whole essence of "friendship".
I strongly believe that friends come to your life for a purpose. Its like making a journey on a highway and you encounter different challenges and characters as you progress on that journey. Some of the characters you meet on the way will help you out, some will ignore your call for help. Some will show you love while others will hate you. Some will accept you for who you are while some will wish you were a different person and yet some will even try to change you. Some of the influences that we encounter as we move along may positively impact us while others will negative impact us. As you make your journey, you exude some energy, some friends will take away your energy whereas some will add to that energy. Some will drain that energy while others will replenish you.
I believe strongly that the purpose of every friendship that one encounters will come to pass and be fufilled in one's life. That is why sometimes you have friends that you had faith in and believed would last a lifetime but you get to a point and you wonder what went wrong with that friendship. It had come to an end suddenly; not because of death but because that person's purpose in your life has ben fufilled and they have moved on with their life and so have you. Their tenure has expired, literally.
Despite this, some friends will be with you a life time and make you wonder what it was you did with them that was exceptional and wish you could have applied it to those that failed that you treasure while they lasted and wished they had lasted longer. Its plain and simple; their purpose in your life has been fufilled and everyone has moved on to encounter more people.

I feel ya big time on this. I've been through this friendship journey and along the way, encountered jealousy and friends who were worse than enemies.
Despite it all, i am still proud and thankful to God that i still have a few people that i can call genuine friends.
Ah, well said, babes. Well said. Friendship is such a mistery that never seizes to amaze me.
Perhaps a bit like traffick signals - you encounter them, and move on. But some remain, just up your street....
All you can do, is be the best you can, not for anyone, but just for you... Ride on girl
